Xplor International Accepting Applications for 2022 Scholarships

Association Scholarships Open to Xplor Members and Their Immediate Families

Lutz, FL – June 7, 2022 –Xplor International, today announced that they are accepting applications for their 2022 scholarship program through the deadline of July 31, 2022.

In 2010, Xplor decided to go beyond its traditional member offerings to help promote and support the next generation of industry professionals. The Xplor Member Scholarship program was founded to provide financial assistance to Xplor members and their immediate families who are pursuing careers in the field of document and communication technology including such studies as web design, marketing, IT, business, print, cyber security, etc.

The program is funded by the generosity of Xplor Elite Sponsors including Gimbel & Associates, Crawford Technologies, Canon Solutions America, GhostDraft, Quadient, and Smart Communications. In addition, the program is supported by Xplor Canada and The Herman L. Gimbel and Audrey M. Gimbel Memorial Scholarship Fund.

To qualify for an Xplor Scholarship, one must be a current Xplor member (or immediate family) and maintain a 3.0 GPA at a four-year or two-year college or university degree program in the United States or Canada. Incoming college freshman may also apply with the same GPA requirements.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on their application submission, response to an essay question, as well as academic achievement, participation in school activities, and service to the community.

Each year scholarships are awarded in various denominations, up to $1000 USD. The 2022 deadline for applications is July 31st. For more information, or to apply, visit www.xplor.org/scholarship.

XPLOR20 to Feature New ‘Ask the Expert’ Sessions

Want To Earn More Money? Attend A Conference!

A couple weeks ago I read the 2015 InPlant Salary Survey and certainly was heartened to find that salaries are in fact on the rise. In fact, in the InPlant world, they have risen 9.9% over the last two years.IP_Clip

The survey was very well done and included a wide variety of statistics. InPlant did their typical great job. Of particular interest to me was that of the 231 usable responses, 44% of the managers who attended conferences (up from 27.5% in 2013) made 17.2% more than those that did not. That is a significant number.

The question is why?

Today, one can go to the internet and find almost anything they wish. The internet has become the go to source for information but as Albert Einstein once said “Information is not knowledge.”

To experience knowledge one must not only find facts and information but also acquire skills through experience or education.

So it simply makes sense that those who invest in expanding their knowledge by attending conferences, and learning from the experiences of others are more invaluable to their company.

Besides making more money, Why Attend A Conference?

  • Conference attendees benefit from people who have the same challenges and are willing to share them in order to help others learn from their experience. To learn what to do as well as what not to do.
  • Meeting people face to face and expanding ones professional network has many benefits that will impact your career. Your professional network can become a sounding board, a venue for new ideas, a place to find solutions or in some cases a future employee (or employer).
  • A good conference is a great place to keep up on all the latest technologies and trends.

All conferences are not created (or executed) equally
