Xplor International Celebrates 40 Years

Special membership rates available for monumental anniversary

Lutz, FL – June 22, 2021 – Xplor International has announced that June 1, 2021 marked the 40th anniversary for the association. Xplor began as a Xerox 9700 User Group in the late 70s, becoming a not-for-profit association in 1981, opening the doors for other vendors to participate. The name XPLOR is an acronym for Xerox Printing Liaison ORganization and over the years has evolved into an industry-wide association.

The association is dedicated to providing programming and services designed to meet the ever-changing needs of the digital document and customer communications industry. Xplor’s members are both transaction and commercial printers who design, produce, and deliver high volumes of print as well as electronic communications via web, mobile, or social media.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary, Xplor is offering special membership rates which include $40 off individual membership and $400 off corporate memberships. Since 2016, the First Timer Recognition Program has given away over 200 conference passes, a $1099 value, to end user attendees. Xplor will once again recognize qualified first time attendees by providing them with a complimentary full-conference pass and an open invitation to come and see what XPLOR19 is all about. The complimentary conference pass entitles the recipient to attend all Xplor educational sessions, general sessions, keynotes and networking events.

Mountaineer and Adventurer, Jeff Evans, Named Keynote Speaker for Xploration® 18

Lutz, FL — January 16, 2018 — Xplor International today announced that Jeff Evans, mountaineer, adventurer, and emergency medicine Physician Assistant, will return to Xplor to deliver a keynote speech to the Xploration 18 audience. Jeff has appeared on ABC’s Expedition Impossible, is the published author of MountainVision: Lessons Beyond the Summit, and has played a major role in the award-winning documentaries Farther Than the Eye Can See, Blindsight and High Ground. He was also featured in a six-episode mini-series by the Travel Channel, Everest Air.

“If you’ve been to the Xploration events before, you might remember Jeff from our 2014 event”, says Skip Henk, President and CEO of Xplor International. “The audience was blown away by his message then and I knew we needed to get him again in the future. Jeff’s climbing began in the late 1980s on the rock faces of Colorado and California. By the mid-90s, Jeff was guiding clients, as well as working search and rescue, on North America’s highest mountain, Mt. McKinley.

In 1993, Jeff met and formed a relationship with blind climber, Erik Weihenmayer. Together, they shattered people’s perceptions about the “handicaps” of the disabled by climbing Mt. McKinley, El Capitan and Aconcagua; competing in adventure races; guiding other disabled individuals on peaks around the world; and successfully reaching the summit of Mt. Everest in 2001. To date, Erik is the only blind climber to reach the summit of Everest.

The teamwork, communication and leadership skills that Jeff has honed during his amazing adventures and challenges have given him the tools to become one of the most dynamic and inspirational speakers on the circuit today.

In its first two years, the First Timer Recognition Program has given over 150 end user attendees a complimentary full-conference pass, a $1099 value. Xplor is once again recognizing qualified first time attendees by providing them with a complimentary full-conference pass and an open invitation to come and see what the Xploration conference is all about. Xplor International released two surveys asking its members and the industry to provide input to assist them in determining future programming, the first, released June 15th, the second July 11th. In return for each completed survey, Xplor offered to donate $5.00 USD to Veterans Matter, a non-profit organization founded by former Xplor Chairman Ken Leslie whose mission is to house veterans and their families.

As a result of the request, Eclipse Corporation, an Xplor member and supporter, offered to match the funds donated by Xplor.

“After reviewing this with our team, Eclipse thinks this is a great cause” says Steve Luke, CEO of Eclipse Corporation.  “Eclipse will match dollar for dollar what Xplor contributes to Veterans Matter.”

Xplor International Accepting Applications for 2017 Scholarships

Association Scholarships Open to Xplor Member’s and Their Immediate Families

Lutz, FL – May 30, 2017 – Xplor International, today announced that they are accepting applications for their 2017 scholarship program through the deadline of July 14, 2017.

In 2010, Xplor decided to go beyond its traditional member offerings to help promote and support the next generation of industry professionals. The Xplor Member Scholarship program was founded to provide financial assistance to Xplor members and their immediate families who are pursuing careers in the field of document and communication technology including such studies as web design, marketing, IT, business, print, cyber security, etc.

The program is funded by the generosity of Xplor Elite Sponsors: NEPS, Crawford Technologies, GMC Software Technology, Canon Solutions America, Compart, OpenText Exstream, Ricoh, and Solimar Systems.

To qualify for an Xplor Scholarship, one must be a current Xplor member (or immediate family) and maintain a 3.0 GPA at a four-year or two-year college or university degree program in the United States or Canada.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on their application submission, response to an essay question, as well as academic achievement, participation in school activities, and service to the community.

“The scholarship program is a great member benefit.” says Skip Henk, President and CEO of Xplor International. “Not only are member’s eligible, but their spouses, children. I encourage members to apply.”
