Crawford Technologies to host Accessibility Pre-Conference Event at Xploration® 18

Lutz, FL — January 23, 2018 — Xplor International today announced that Crawford Technologies will present a Pre-Conference Program titled “Implementing Accessible Documents in Your Organization”. The Accessibility workshop will front-end the Xploration event on April 16, 2018 at the Rosen Plaza in Orlando, Florida.  The Xploration 18 event will take place April 17-19, 2018.

With upcoming Section 508 changes and new global regulations, most organizations know that they need to provide accessible documents to their blind, partially sighted and cognitively disabled customers but may not be clear on the best strategy to do so.

This hands-on session will feature discussions, demos, and exercises allowing participants to dive deep into the world of document accessibility. Industry experts will drive the discussion and will conclude with a recommended action plan for accessibility.

Registration for this event is required and this complimentary pre-conference program can be added during the Xploration 18 conference registration. Space is limited to 50 participants.

Mountaineer and Adventurer, Jeff Evans, Named Keynote Speaker for Xploration® 18

Lutz, FL — January 16, 2018 — Xplor International today announced that Jeff Evans, mountaineer, adventurer, and emergency medicine Physician Assistant, will return to Xplor to deliver a keynote speech to the Xploration 18 audience. The Xploration event takes place April 17-19 at the Rosen Plaza in Orlando, Florida.  Mr. Evans’ keynote address will kick-off the event on Tuesday, April 17 at 8:50 AM.

Jeff has appeared on ABC’s Expedition Impossible, is the published author of MountainVision: Lessons Beyond the Summit, and has played a major role in the award-winning documentaries Farther Than the Eye Can See, Blindsight and High Ground. He was also featured in a six-episode mini-series by the Travel Channel, Everest Air.

“If you’ve been to the Xploration events before, you might remember Jeff from our 2014 event”, says Skip Henk, President and CEO of Xplor International. “The audience was blown away by his message then and I knew we needed to get him again in the future. I spoke with many people regarding keynote speakers this year and Jeff’s name was the one that kept coming up. I have no doubt that you will enjoy it.”

Jeff’s climbing began in the late 1980s on the rock faces of Colorado and California. By the mid-90s, Jeff was guiding clients, as well as working search and rescue, on North America’s highest mountain, Mt. McKinley.

In 1993, Jeff met and formed a relationship with blind climber, Erik Weihenmayer. Together, they shattered people’s perceptions about the “handicaps” of the disabled by climbing Mt. McKinley, El Capitan and Aconcagua; competing in adventure races; guiding other disabled individuals on peaks around the world; and successfully reaching the summit of Mt. Everest in 2001. To date, Erik is the only blind climber to reach the summit of Everest.

The teamwork, communication and leadership skills that Jeff has honed during his amazing adventures and challenges have given him the tools to become one of the most dynamic and inspirational speakers on the circuit today.

The Program Provides Complimentary Conference Passes to Qualified Applicants

In its first two years, the First Timer Recognition Program has given over 150 end user attendees a complimentary full-conference pass, a $1099 value. Xplor is once again recognizing qualified first time attendees by providing them with a complimentary full-conference pass and an open invitation to come and see what the Xploration conference is all about. The complimentary conference pass entitles the recipient to attend all Xplor educational sessions, general sessions, keynotes and networking events.

Application of the Year Award
The Application of the Year Award is presented to an individual, a company or an organization to recognize outstanding achievement in the imaginative application of current technology and/or unique implementation of existing document and communication systems. This award is open to members and non-members.

Technology of the Year Award
The Technology of the Year Award honors an individual, company or organization that has conceived and developed an original concept leading to a significant advancement in the industry.   This can be a new program, product or technology that notably enhances the capabilities of document and communication systems. This award is open to members and non-members.

The Brian Platte Lifetime Achievement Award
Established in 2007, this award is given to an individual whose efforts and contributions have significantly changed the course and development of the digital document and customer communications industry. This award is open to members and non-members.

Xplorer of the Year
For over 20 years, Xplor International has honored an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the association. The Xplorer of the Year honors significant service to the association, dedication to the Xplor mission, and notable achievement promoting the interest of the electronic document systems industry.  Only current members of Xplor International, who are not on the Association Board of Directors, are eligible.

Xplor International Issues 2018 Conference Call for Presentations

Two-and-a-half Day Event to Host Educational Sessions, a Vendor Forum, and Networking Events

Lutz, FL – October 2, 2017 Xplor International, the worldwide electronic document systems association, has issued a “call for presentations” for their annual event, Xploration® 18, taking place April 17-19, 2018 at the Rosen Plaza in Orlando, Florida. The event will feature four distinct tracks which include over 45 educational sessions and a keynote, in addition to the vendor forum and daily networking events.

For the 2018 event, Xplor distributed a survey to past attendees, members, and the industry requesting information about what topics they wanted to see at the event. After an overwhelming response, the Xplor team compiled all the responses and created the tracks and topics that you will see at Xploration 18 based on that feedback.

Xplor has opened up the call for presentations with the ability to submit as either a Session Presenter or a Panelist. After tremendous feedback from the 2017 event, Xplor is continuing to offer session presenters the option of a 25-minute Lightning Learning or a 50-minute Deep Dive timeslot for 2018.

Session submissions should include case studies and address: what the subject is, why it is important, and how is it implemented. Due to past demand, we can only accept one entry per person for session presenters, so choose your best one! Those selected will be notified of the status of their submission in November.

Acadami to Again Host Production Workflow Basics Course in Conjunction with the Xploration® 17 Program

Two-day course is Included as part of full-conference registration

Lutz, FL — February 1, 2017—Xplor International today announced that acadami will once again present their two-day Electronic Document Body of Knowledge Production Workflow Basics course as part of the Xploration® 17 conference, being held March 28-30 at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Florida. The ten module course makes up the “fundamentals” educational track of the conference. Acadami classes are recognized internationally for their electronic and transactional document courses.

The course, based on A Guide to the Electronic Document Body of Knowledge (EDBOK) available at www.edbok.org, provides industry professionals a standard that establishes a base level of knowledge about document application development and production for the industry as well as providing a road map for the next generation of industry professionals.

This EDBOK-based program focuses on the EDBOK Document Production Workflow.

“This is a great opportunity for people new to the industry as well as veterans”, says Skip Henk, President and CEO of Xplor, “In two days attendees can get a baseline of knowledge as well as better understand the components and processes of the transactional document industry.”

Attendees participating in all 10 modules are eligible to participate in an optional final exam to earn 20 Education Credits towards an EDA designation or EDP certification. Current EDPs will earn 20 re-certification Credits. The class is limited to 30 attendees.

Graduates will also receive a complimentary copy of A Guide to the Electronic Document Body of Knowledge – 1st Edition, a $150 value.
